Politics over time has moved from offering dreams into promising to protect us from nightmares (promises to protect us from the dangers which we cannot see nor understand). E.g international terrorism.However a big aspect of these so called threats/nightmares have been amplified or distorted by the government.
This documentary talks about how and why these nightmares were created and who and how the benefit. (looking at american Neo-conservatives and the Islams)
The Neo conservatives set the vision of America being a country which set out to struggle against evil throughout the world.
The Neo conservatives of america set out to make an alliance with Afghanistan offering large sums of money and numbers of weapons to go against the Russian troops. At the same time, Arabs joined which were by their religious leader told that they must free the muslim lands from the Soviet invaders.
However Abula Azham was looking to persuade the muslim people in Afghanistan to reject the corrupt autocratic regimes by supporting them during the fight against the soviets.
1985 a new force began to arrive in Afghanistan-> the extreme radical islam who were being expelled from prisons in the Arab world.
